The work scope included well 9/03b-6z that had been drilled and suspended in 2010 and well 9/03b-7z in 2012. The project utilised our CSV vessel, the Normand Clipper, to perform operations at a depth of 110 meters over 12.25 days, 85 miles south east of Shetland. Rever Offshore worked in collaboration with key suppliers to deliver the well P&A project safely and in compliance with the OGUK guidelines, generating all the key documentation to gain the relevant regulatory permissions in order to execute the work.

Scope of Work

The project was split into two scopes, tackling each well in succession. These included:

Well 9/03b-7 & 7Z (Category 2.1)

  • Vessel mobilisation and transit to well location
  • Commenced DP & field entry trials and completed as-found survey
  • Recovered wellhead protection structure, trash cap & associated appendages
  • Ran scraper to below lower packer setting depth
  • Drifted wellbore
  • Perforated
  • Pumped cement, waited till strengthen and tagged plug
  • Recovered cement Tooling
  • Deployed, landed and secured cutting and recovery tool to wellhead
  • Performed cutting operations
  • Removed and recovered cutting and recovery tool post cut
  • As left survey

Well 9/03b-6Z (Category 1)

  • Transit to Well 9/03b-6Z
  • Removed trash cap from wellhead
  • Deployed drift tool and deployed, landed and secured cutting and recovery tool to wellhead
  • Drifted casing and cleaned and performed cutting operations
  • Removed and recovered cutting and recovery tool post cut, secured & sea-fastened on deck
  • Recovered wellhead and secured & sea-fastened on deck
  • As left survey

Conclusion:

This was Rever’s first well P&A project and collaborating with the operator enabled us to tackle a project first successfully. This is a testament to our experienced and skilled team, providing Rever the basis upon which to further strengthen our capabilities in the North Sea and support our diverse client base.
